Known as Easter Eggers because of the wide variety of their egg colors and plumage variation, these girls are a lot of fun! Easter Eggers are a mixed bag of many possible traits with little guarantee of any of them but egg color. Those egg colors range from different shades of blue to shades of olive, and occasionally even pink. Whatever color an individual hen lays, is the color she will lay throughout her life. She will lay 4-5 per week. Most commonly, Easter Eggers will have a pea comb or a single comb, though other combs are possible as well. It is possible for them to have facial muffs and/or beards, causing them to look like a really cute chipmunk, but they might have none of those facial features at all. You could have a flock of 15 Easter Eggers that could all be vastly different from one another. This is a friendly, curious breed that enjoys getting treats from their humans. Easter Eggers remain one of our favorite breeds and are well worth having! They are a great addition to any flock.
