Barred Plymouth Rocks are sweet, calm, docile birds, making this breed great for families. They are curious and enjoy free-ranging but also tolerate confinement well. A Barred Rock should have a red single comb, wattles earlobes, and face, and it should have yellow, un-feathered legs. The pattern on its feathers should be crisp and clearly defined. The hen lays around 4 large brown eggs a week.
